FAQ

Ordering & Payments

Can large or custom orders take longer to ship?

Yes. Bulk orders and certain custom selections may require extra processing time. Lead times are always confirmed after purchase.

Will the driver help unload the cabinets?

Freight carriers deliver curbside only. The driver does not unload. Please have help available for larger shipments.

Will I be charged sales tax on my order?

Sales tax is calculated at checkout based on your shipping address. If you’re tax-exempt, contact us before ordering.

Can I cancel or change my order after it’s been placed?

Free to cancel within 24 hours. After that, changes may incur a restocking fee. Contact us ASAP if you need to adjust.

Is my personal and payment information secure?

Yes. We use SSL encryption and secure gateways. We never store full card data, and your privacy is always protected.

Shipping & Delivery

What happens if I miss my delivery?

Missed freight appointments may result in carrier redelivery fees. We recommend confirming someone 18+ is available on the scheduled day.

Do you offer liftgate service?

Liftgate service is available for most deliveries. Additional fees may apply depending on carrier and location.

Do I need to inspect my order before signing?

Yes. Inspect all boxes and note any visible damage on the Bill of Lading before signing. This protects your claim for replacements.

What should I do if I see damage at delivery?

Note the damage on the Bill of Lading and take photos before signing. Then contact us so we can send replacements quickly.

Are there extra fees for remote or limited-access locations?

Yes. Islands, ferry-only areas, and remote regions may require additional access fees from the carrier.

Returns, Damages & Warranty

What is your return policy if I change my mind?

Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery if items are unopened, unused, and in original packaging. Assembled, modified, custom, or clearance items are not eligible. All returns require approval and are subject to a 25% restocking fee plus return freight.

What if my cabinets arrive damaged?

Inspect your delivery before signing. If you see damage, note it on the delivery slip and contact us within 48 hours with photos. Confirmed freight damage is replaced at no cost.

What if an item is missing or incorrect?

Tell us right away. Once verified, we’ll ship any missing or corrected parts at no charge.

Do your cabinets come with a warranty?

Yes—our cabinetry includes a 5-year limited warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use. See full warranty here.

What does the warranty not cover?

It does not cover improper installation, storage, or handling; normal wood aging or color changes; wear and tear; misuse; environmental exposure; unfinished products; or heating vents installed under or in front of cabinets.

How does wood movement affect warranty claims?

Doors with up to ¼" warp or panel movement must acclimate for one full season. Most return to normal once humidity stabilizes.

Does the warranty cover labor?

No. Labor, removal, installation, and any incidental costs are not included.

Are replacement parts identical to the originals?

Most are, but some components may vary slightly due to availability or manufacturing updates.

Are there items that cannot be returned or canceled?

Yes—assembled, custom-finished, modified, or clearance items are final sale. Orders already in production or shipped may not be canceled or may incur restocking and freight fees.

Products & Quality

Are your cabinets all wood construction? Do they contain any particle board?

Yes – our cabinets are built with premium plywood boxes, solid wood drawers, and no particle board anywhere. We use solid wood corner brackets secured with countersunk screws for added strength – no plastic clips or brackets like many competitors.

Do your cabinets have soft-close hinges and drawers?

Yes – every cabinet comes with 6-way adjustable soft-close door hinges and soft-close drawer glides. BLUM® glide upgrades are available.

How are the cabinets finished? Will the finish hold up over time?

Our cabinets are finished using a multi-step factory process that includes hand-applied stains or paints, UV coating, and oven-curing. This creates a hard, durable cabinet-grade finish that resists peeling, chipping, and everyday wear. Painted doors use HDF centers to ensure long-term smoothness and stability.

Can I order cabinets in a custom color or finish?

Yes – we offer custom paint colors on request for an added fee and longer lead time. Contact us for availability and quoting.

Are your cabinets safe and environmentally friendly?

Yes – all materials meet CARB2 standards and use low-VOC finishes for safe indoor air quality.

Design Help, Samples & 3D Renderings

Is your kitchen design service really free?

Will I get to see a 3D rendering of my new kitchen?

Yes – we share photorealistic 3D renderings during your design meeting to visualize your actual space with your chosen style, layout, and finishes.

Can I get a sample door or finish sample before ordering?

Yes – we recommend it! All sample purchases (up to $200) are refunded when your final order is 80% greater than your sample total.

What if I want full-service design support?

We offer an advanced Step 3 design package starting at $500, which includes CAD drawings, product lists, and unlimited revisions. This fee is also refunded when you place an order 80% greater than the package cost.

How long does the design process take?

Initial designs are typically ready within 2–3 business days. Full layouts and drawings (Step 3) vary based on revisions and project complexity. View more at kitchenandcabinetstore.com/pages/design-meeting.

Installation & Assembly

Are your cabinets pre-assembled or ready-to-assemble (RTA)?

Most customers choose pre-assembled cabinets for convenience. These are 'SEMI-CUSTOM' grade cabinets — the same quality used in premium kitchen remodels — and are rarely offered in RTA format. We make RTA available for those who want to save on shipping or prefer DIY, using sturdy dowels, screws, and pocket holes — no cams (like IKEA), glue, or clips.

How do I assemble the cabinets? Are instructions provided?

Yes – we include step-by-step printed instructions for every cabinet. You can also view digital guides and videos at kitchenandcabinetstore.com/pages/cabinet-assembly-instructions.

What tools or skills do I need for assembly?

Just basic tools: a drill, screwdriver, rubber mallet, and clamps are helpful. Most customers assemble their cabinets in under 20 minutes each.

Can I install the cabinets myself, or should I hire someone?

If you're handy and have help, you can DIY install using our layout guides. For larger or complex kitchens, hiring a pro is a good idea.

Do you offer installation services?

We don’t install directly, but we can refer trusted contractors in many areas. For local MA customers, our company founded in 2000 may be available to help.

What if I have issues during assembly or install?

Reach out anytime. We’ll help troubleshoot, clarify steps, or replace any missing hardware quickly so your project stays on track.
