Kitchen & Cabinet Store – Limited Warranty Policy
This Warranty Policy applies to cabinetry and related products purchased from Kitchen & Cabinet Store (“KCS”). By purchasing from KCS, the customer acknowledges and agrees to the terms below.
1. Kitchen & Cabinet Store – 5-Year Limited Warranty
(Applies to all cabinetry sold under the Kitchen & Cabinet Store brand.)
1.1 Coverage
KCS warrants that its cabinetry will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use for five (5) years from the date of delivery. This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.
Covered components include:
- Doors, drawer fronts, and face frames
- Drawer boxes and drawer glides
- Hinges, hardware, and shelving
- Cabinet boxes and structural parts
- Factory-applied finishes (paint or stain)
KCS will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace the defective component. Replacement parts may vary slightly due to natural wood characteristics or ongoing manufacturing updates.
1.2 Natural Material Characteristics (Not Considered Defects)
Because wood is a natural product, the following conditions are normal and excluded from warranty coverage:
- Hairline paint cracks at door or frame joints
- Minor color, stain, or grain variation
- Door warpage up to ¼", measured corner to corner, after one full humidity season
- Mineral streaks, knots, or natural wood texture variation
- Slight finish changes over time from household lighting or sunlight
These characteristics are inherent to real-wood cabinetry and do not qualify as defects.
1.3 Exclusions (Not Covered)
This warranty does not cover:
- Damage caused by improper installation, misuse, alteration, or cutting/drilling
- Improper storage conditions (e.g., garages, unconditioned spaces, damp areas)
- Water damage, humidity imbalance, or plumbing leaks
- Heat damage from appliances, lighting, or heating vents positioned beneath or behind cabinets
- Normal wear and tear, scratches, dents, and surface scuffs
- UV fading or color change due to sunlight exposure
- Use in commercial, rental, or non-residential environments
- Clearance, modified, customized, or “as-is” items
KCS does not replace items solely due to natural wood movement or expected material variation.
1.4 Labor & Additional Costs
This warranty covers replacement parts only. It does not cover:
- Labor for removal or installation
- Contractor fees or trip charges
- Disposal, transportation, or repair costs
- Project delays or related expenses
1.5 Filing a Warranty Claim
Customers must notify KCS within 48 hours of discovering a potential defect and provide:
- Order number
- Clear photos of the issue
- A written description of the problem
- Proof of proper installation, if requested
KCS may request additional documentation or an inspection before a decision is made.
2. Third-Party & Manufacturer Warranties
(Applies to products not manufactured by KCS.)
2.1 Coverage Determined by Manufacturer
Products from other brands—such as appliances, hardware, sinks, faucets, lighting, and specialty components—are covered exclusively by the original manufacturer’s warranty. Coverage and duration vary by manufacturer.
2.2 KCS Does Not Modify Manufacturer Terms
KCS does not extend, override, or alter any third-party warranty. All evaluations, approvals, replacements, or denials are determined by the manufacturer.
2.3 Filing a Third-Party Claim
To file a claim for a non-KCS product, customers must follow the manufacturer’s published claim process. KCS may assist with documentation, such as proof of purchase, but is not responsible for claim decisions or outcomes.
3. Warranty Limitations (Applies to All Products)
This warranty is the sole and exclusive remedy for defects in products purchased from KCS. KCS shall not be liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Loss of use or project delays
- Labor, installation, or removal costs
No installer, contractor, or representative is authorized to alter or expand this warranty.
