Overview
Victory Horizon Flush Ceiling Mount Range Hood
The Victory Horizon is a flush ceiling hood with two blowers and up to 900 CFM, for kitchens that cook hot and heavy. It sits up in the ceiling between joists 16" on center, so nothing hangs down to block the view. A wired glass wall switch runs the 4-speed fan and dims the lights.
Two blowers, 900 CFM
Dual motors move up to 900 CFM on high, with three lower speeds for everyday cooking.
Flush with the ceiling
The Horizon recesses between standard joists 16" on center, so the view across your kitchen stays open.
Controls on the wall
The included glass wall switch has a 4-speed fan dial and a touch dimmer for the lights, so you never reach for the ceiling.

Installing it
How it goes in
We sell Victory hoods but don't install them. These steps summarize Victory's installation manual so you and your installer know what's involved. Always follow the manual and local codes.
- 1
Test it first
Victory says to test the fan and lights before the hood is recessed into the ceiling.
- 2
Plan the rough-in
Line the hood up with the joists and center it over the cooktop. The drywall cut-out goes between two joists, and someone needs access above the ceiling.
- 3
Attach the support brackets
Remove the filters and bolt the two main support brackets to the top of the hood with the M6 bolts and washers.
- 4
Lift and connect the duct
With at least two helpers, lift the hood into the ceiling and connect the 8" top outlet to the duct. Seal joints with aluminum tape.
- 5
Rest it on the joists
Turn the brackets 90 degrees so they sit on top of the joists, then bolt them to the hood and screw them into the joists.
- 6
Add corner screws
Remove the side light panels, drive wood screws through the corner holes into the joists, then reinstall the panels and filters.
We sell the hood, not the install
We don't install. A contractor, with an electrician for the power, should follow the maker's manual. Questions while you plan? Call us at (508) 419-4276.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Will it fit between my ceiling joists?
Victory designed the Horizon to fit between joists 16" on center. Two support brackets on top of the hood rest across the joists and carry its weight. Your installer needs access to the space above the ceiling to connect the duct, and the joists and cooktop must line up the same way; if they don't, the hood may need to drop into a framed box.
What size duct does it need?
8" round metal duct at minimum, out the top only. Rigid duct works best. The run can be up to 50 feet of straight duct, minus 9 feet for each 90° elbow, 5 feet for each 45° elbow, and 7 feet each for a round-to-rectangle piece and the wall or roof cap. For a long run, Victory says to step up to 10". No reducers and no plenum boxes.
How loud is it?
Victory's manual rates it at 1.0, 2.4, 4.0 and 6.0 sones across its 4 speeds. One sone is roughly the sound of a refrigerator.
How high above the cooktop should it be?
Victory recommends 48" between the cooktop and the bottom of the hood, and the manual allows 46" to 60". The hood works best at no more than about 8 feet from the floor.
Can it be used without venting outside?
No. Victory's manual says the Horizon must be ducted to the outside, through a wall or the roof, never into an attic, wall, crawl space or garage.
How is it wired?
It is hardwired. It needs a 120V, 60Hz supply on its own 15 A circuit. The wall switch connects to the hood with two 14-3 cables, plus a 14-2 cable from the panel; the cable is not included. Victory says a certified electrician should do the wiring.
How do I clean the filters?
Open the doors to reach the three aluminum mesh filters. Victory says to clean them after every 30 hours of use. They are not dishwasher safe: spray them with a degreaser, let them soak if they are very dirty, then dry and reinstall.
What does the warranty cover?
Victory gives a lifetime motor warranty and a 5-year parts warranty to the original buyer for home use. Keep your receipt. Light bulbs and filters are consumables and are not covered, and damage from improper installation is not covered.
