Overview
Victory Jupiter Ductless Island Range Hood
The Victory Jupiter is a compact stainless cylinder hood that hangs on slim cables over an island cooktop. It is ductless: it pulls cooking air through a grease filter and two charcoal filters, then returns the cleaned air to the kitchen. It suits homes where running a duct outside is not practical.
No ductwork
Charcoal filters clean the air and send it back into the room, so no duct to the outside is needed.
Floats on cables
Slim cables hang the 13-3/4 inch cylinder over the island and adjust for 8 to 10 foot ceilings.
Remote and timer
Use the included remote or the panel on the hood. A 9-minute timer turns it off for you.

Installing it
How it goes in
We sell Victory hoods but don't install them. These steps summarize Victory's installation manual so you and your installer know what's involved. Always follow the manual and local codes.
- 1
Plan the spot
Find the ceiling centerline over the cooktop between joists and use the hanging board template to mark it.
- 2
Add support
Add two 6 x 4 inch wood braces between the joists and mount an electrical box with cover.
- 3
Wire it
Have an electrician run the 120V supply, connect the hood wiring in the electrical box and test the hood.
- 4
Mount the boards
Screw the hanging board to the wood support, then attach and level the decorative board.
- 5
Hang the hood
With three or more people, clip the four braided cables into the hood and set it 24 to 30 inches above the cooktop.
- 6
Filters
Lock in the two charcoal filters, then install the aluminum mesh filter.
We sell the hood, not the install
We don't install. A contractor, with an electrician for the power, should follow the maker's manual. Questions while you plan? Call us at (508) 419-4276.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
How does a ductless hood work?
The fan pulls cooking air through an aluminum mesh grease filter and two charcoal filters, then blows the filtered air out the top and back into the kitchen. Nothing is vented outside, so the charcoal filters do the odor work and must be replaced on schedule.
How often do the charcoal filters need replacing?
Every 3 to 6 months depending on how much you cook, and sooner with heavy cooking. Charcoal filters cannot be washed. If suction drops and noise goes up, it is time for new ones.
Will it fit my ceiling?
The hood plus its hanging cables reach up to 65 inches, which fits 8 to 10 foot ceilings. Above 8 feet, an electrician needs to install a longer main power cable.
How high above the cooktop should it hang?
24 to 30 inches above the cooktop, centered over it, and no closer than 15 inches to the ceiling.
Does it plug in?
No. It is hardwired into an electrical box in the ceiling on a separate 120V, 15 amp circuit. Victory says to have an electrician make the connection.
Can the mesh filter go in the dishwasher?
No. Soak it in a degreaser, dry it and reinstall it. Clean it about every 30 hours of cooking.
What is the warranty?
Victory's manual gives a five-year parts warranty for the original purchaser. Lights and filters are not covered.
