Overview
Victory Q1 36 Inch Range Hood Insert
The Victory Q1 is a 36 inch range hood insert that hides inside a cabinet or custom wood hood above your cooktop. Its 4-speed, 600 CFM all-metal blower pulls smoke, steam and cooking smells outside through a standard 6 inch round duct. It suits homeowners who want a clean built-in look in a standard 12 inch deep cabinet.
600 CFM, four speeds
An all-metal blower moves up to 600 CFM on high and drops to a quiet 1.0 sone on low.
Made for 12 inch cabinets
At 11-3/4 in deep at the lip, the Q1 fits a standard 12 inch deep cabinet. Victory's cut-out is 34-1/8 in wide x 10-5/8 in deep.
Timer clears the air
Tap the fan button once more and the hood keeps running for 3 minutes, then turns itself off.

Installing it
How it goes in
We sell Victory hoods but don't install them. These steps summarize Victory's installation manual so you and your installer know what's involved. Always follow the manual and local codes.
- 1
Test it first
Plug the hood in and check the fan and lights before it goes into the cabinet. Victory says to test before enclosing it.
- 2
Cut the cabinet bottom
Cut an opening of 34-1/8 in wide x 10-5/8 in deep, at least 3/4 in from the wall. The cabinet needs front doors for access.
- 3
Add wood blocking
Fasten fire-rated wood blocking inside the cabinet to hold the hood.
- 4
Slide it in and fasten
Lift the hood into the opening and screw it to the blocking through the pre-drilled side holes.
- 5
Connect the duct
Attach the 6 in transition and run 6 in round metal duct to a wall or roof cap. Seal every joint with aluminum foil tape.
- 6
Plug in and add filters
Plug the hood into its outlet, then click the mesh filters into place.
We sell the hood, not the install
We don't install. A contractor, with an electrician for the power, should follow the maker's manual. Questions while you plan? Call us at (508) 419-4276.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Will the Q1-36 fit in a standard 12 inch deep cabinet?
Yes. Victory lists it at 11-3/4 in deep at the lip. You cut an opening of 34-1/8 in wide x 10-5/8 in deep in the cabinet bottom, at least 3/4 in from the wall so the lip has room.
How loud is it?
Victory rates the Q1 at 1.0 sones on the lowest speed and 5.5 sones on the highest. Victory says one sone is roughly the sound of a quiet refrigerator.
What duct does it need?
A 6 inch round metal duct (rigid is recommended) that goes outside through a wall or roof cap with a backdraft damper. Victory allows up to 50 ft of straight duct, minus about 9 ft for each 90 degree elbow and 5 ft for each 45.
How high should it hang above my cooktop?
Victory recommends 24 to 30 inches between the cooktop and the bottom of the hood, with 28 inches as the sweet spot.
Can I put the filters in the dishwasher?
Victory's manual says no. The aluminum mesh filters lift out and should be soaked in a degreaser, rinsed and dried. Clean them about every 30 hours of use.
How does it get power?
It plugs in. Victory calls for a 120V outlet on its own 15-amp circuit inside the cabinet above the hood, installed by a qualified electrician.
What is the warranty?
Victory covers the motor for life and parts for 5 years for the original purchaser. Bulbs and filters are not covered.
