Overview

Victory Sunset Bluetooth Flush Ceiling Mount Range Hood

The Victory Sunset (Bluetooth) is the flush ceiling Sunset you run from your phone. It sits in the ceiling over your cooktop, so nothing hangs down to block the view, and it fits between standard ceiling joists 16" on center. The free Victory Range Hoods app turns on the fan, sets one of 4 speeds and switches the lights.

  1. Run it from your phone

The Victory Range Hoods app connects over Bluetooth to turn the fan on, pick one of 4 speeds and switch the lights.

  2. Flush with the ceiling

The hood recesses between standard joists 16" on center, so the view across your kitchen stays open.

  3. Shuts itself off

A 3-minute auto shut-off timer, plus a safety shut-off if the fan is left running with no phone connected for more than 5 minutes.

Will it fit?

Check your kitchen

Answer what you know and skip the rest. Each check uses the numbers in Victory's manual for this hood. Your installer makes the final call.

1Where is your cooktop?
2Tell us about your cooktop

Count only the cooktop or range under this hood. A separate wall oven doesn't count. The BTU is on the label under the cooktop or in your range's manual.

3How tall is the room?

36" is a typical counter height.

4Can the hood vent outside?
5Is there power near the hood?

    Installing it

    How it goes in

We sell Victory hoods but don't install them. These steps summarize Victory's installation manual so you and your installer know what's involved. Always follow the manual and local codes.

    1. 1

      Test it first

Victory says to test the hood before it is boxed in or recessed into the ceiling.

    2. 2

      Plan the rough-in

Line the hood up with the joists and center it over the cooktop. The ceiling cut-out goes between two joists.

    3. 3

      Run power

An electrician provides 120V on its own 15 A circuit to the hood's electrical box.

    4. 4

      Lift and connect the duct

Lift the hood into the ceiling and attach the 6" duct to the top or side outlet. Seal joints with aluminum tape.

    5. 5

      Fasten to the joists

Remove the filters and drive wood screws through the side walls into the joists. Add blocking if there is extra space between joists.

    6. 6

      Connect the app

Install the Victory Range Hoods app, tap Connect to my hood and choose your hood from the list.

We sell the hood, not the install

We don't install. A contractor, with an electrician for the power, should follow the maker's manual. Questions while you plan? Call us at (508) 419-4276.

    Questions

    Frequently asked questions

    How do I control it?

With the free Victory Range Hoods app for iPhone (App Store) or Android (Google Play). It connects over Bluetooth and lets you turn the hood on and off, choose one of 4 fan speeds and switch the lights. You need a smartphone to use it.

    Does it turn itself off?

Yes. A blinking power button means the 3-minute auto shut-off timer is running. As a safety feature, it also shuts off if the fan is on and no device has been connected for more than 5 minutes. There is also an on/off safety power switch inside the hood, behind the filters.

Will it fit between my ceiling joists?

Victory designed the Sunset to fit between joists 16" on center. The manual shows a ceiling cut-out of about 32" x 13" between two joists, and wood blocking may be needed if the joists are farther apart. The joists and the cooktop must line up the same way; if they don't, the hood may need to drop into a framed box.

    How loud is it?

Victory rates it at 1.0, 2.5, 4.0 and 6.0 sones across its 4 speeds. One sone is roughly the sound of a refrigerator.

What size duct does it need?

6" round metal duct at minimum, and rigid duct works best. The run can be up to 50 feet of straight duct, minus 9 feet for each 90° elbow, 5 feet for each 45° elbow, and 7 feet each for a round-to-rectangle piece and the wall or roof cap. It can vent out the top or the side; plan the direction with your installer.

How high above the cooktop should it be?

Victory's manual says the bottom of the hood should be 48" to 60" above the cooktop, and that the hood works best at no more than about 8 feet from the floor. Some ceiling heights won't allow this, so check with your installer.

How do I clean the filters?

Open the stainless door to reach the three aluminum mesh filters. Victory says to clean them after every 30 hours of use. They are not dishwasher safe: spray them with a degreaser, let them soak if they are very dirty, then dry and reinstall.

    What does the warranty cover?

Victory gives a lifetime motor warranty and a 5-year parts warranty for home use. The lifetime motor warranty is for the original buyer only and ends if the hood is sold or transferred. Keep your receipt and order number.
