Every one has two doors (an upper and a lower), adjustable 3/4″ shelves, soft-close hinges, 5/8″ plywood sides finished to match, a 3/4″ plywood back and a solid hardwood face frame.
Pick the height by your ceiling
- 84″: lines up with standard 30″ wall cabinets hung 18″ above the counter. The safest choice for an 8-foot ceiling.
- 90″: lines up with 36″ wall cabinets hung at the standard height. Fits under an 8-foot ceiling with a few inches to spare.
- 96″: for ceilings taller than 8 feet. A 96″ cabinet won't fit under a 96″ (8-foot) ceiling, because it needs room above it to stand up and be leveled.
Pick the width by your gap
Measure the space at the top, middle and bottom and go by the smallest number. If you have 12 to 14½ inches, choose the 12″ pantry; from 15 inches, the 15″ pantry holds more. Close any leftover space with a filler strip. Next to a refrigerator, make sure the fridge door can still swing fully open; a filler on the hinge side gives it room.
What fits in a 12-inch pantry?
More than you'd think. At 24″ deep, cans, jars, spices, oils and cereal boxes can sit two or three deep on each shelf. The adjustable shelves let you space them for tall bottles or short cans.
No floor space?
If the narrow spot is above the counter, a 9″ wide wall cabinet (30″, 36″ or 42″ tall) adds slim storage up high. Down low, a 6″ or 9″ spice pull-out slides out like a skinny pantry. See what fits a 9-inch gap.
